We love an Open Show here at Beach Creative, it brings so many local artists together and helps build a strong and supportive creative community.

The first theme for 2024 was 'Landscape' and chosen purposefully by the Exhibitions Committee for it's broadness of interpretation and accessibility. Artists were encouraged to respond to the brief in whichever way they liked!
'Coast' and 'Beach' by artist David Lewis
Entries included paintings in oils, acrylics and watercolours, line drawings, collages, photography and sculptures large and small! The resulting exhibition was a fantastical mix of landscapes abstract and literal, real and imagined from a talented array of artists.
'Kingswood Bluebells' and 'Towards Cley' by artist Nicola Bennett
Open shows are a great way to meet new people and share your work without the pressure that can sometimes come with putting together a solo show. It can also give your work new context and allow you to see it curated alongside an array of different medias and styles.
"The Open call is a supportive opportunity to showcase many different and varied styles. I would most definitely and absolutely encourage anyone to just go for it! There is no need to worry that the work might not ‘fit’ in! Or not be good enough!"
