Beach Creative CIC is now in its 12th year! We have been given an affordable 70-year mortgage thanks to an anonymous supporter, and now Beach Creative now own and run the building as a Community Arts and Wellbeing Hub. Although we have a small and effective staff, most of us are volunteers - and without volunteers, we will not be able to operate.
Beach Creative belongs to our community.
We are currently applying for Community Ownership Fund money to expand and improve our facilities by converting our three large loft spaces into studio and rooms for hire, including a facility for young people to gain employability skills. Additional income from these rooms would enable us to employ more staff to run the Centre.
We are applying for £200,000 and must raise £40,000 in match funding. So, we launched Raise the Roof at Beach Creative in December and have raised almost £16K! This has come mostly from our newly launched Makers Markets, sales from merchandise we have made and generous donations from supporters.

We understand that most of us are struggling with money in the current climate. With this in mind, we are asking if you can spare just £1 to donate to our cause by dropping it into our Raise the Roof donation boxes here at Beach Creative. If each member of our community could donate one pound we could Raise the Roof at Beach Creative and transform it into the centre that all of Herne Bay can benefit from for years to come.
