Can you help us Raise the Roof by participating in our Art Auction on Saturday 23rd November 2024?
We are asking artists and makers who care about Beach Creative, who have ever shown with us or even just visited our exhibitions and enjoyed them, to please donate some work to the auction and help us reach the target.
Your work would be shown as part of the exhibition and auctioned on Saturday by Martin Rowson, the auction will be ticketed and there will be refreshments for attendees. It is set to be a fantastic evening for all!
If you want to take part, be fantastically generous, donate some work to the auction and be in the show; you will be massively helping Beach Creative to develop its future.

Martin Rowson is a multi-award winning cartoonist, illustrator, graphic novelist, writer, ranter, performer, broadcaster and poet, whose work has appeared over the past four decades in almost every publication you can think of (apart from The Sun & Private Eye). He currently features regularly on The Guardian, Byline Times and The New European.
His many books include comic book adaptations of The Waste Land, Tristram Shandy, Gulliver's Travels and The Communist Manifesto, "Stuff", a memoir about clearing out his late parents' house which was longlisted for the Samuel Johnson Prize and, due out this December, "The *untsiad", a foul-mouthed update of Alexander Popes "The Dunciad".
We already have a number of artworks that have very kindly been donated and believe there will be something to interest everyone at the Auction. From large-scale paintings, to your very own oil-painted portrait session, fine art photographic prints, sculptures and much more! Guide prices will be included in the listings and work will range from £30 - £3,000. So no matter your budget, art collector or enthusiast, come along and have a great evening!
Raise the Roof at Beach Creative - Where will the money go?
As part of our strategy to ensure a legacy is in place for future generations to be involved in and run the organisation, Beach Creative is developing a strong relationship with the young people in our district: encouraging them to bring their own ideas and projects to our community space; mentoring them to deliver on projects; working with them to develop their creative practice; give them an understanding of the business side of creative practice including skills for employability.
Our long-term aim is to take the existing unused loft spaces and convert these into workable spaces: one would be a designated youth space for the young people in the town to work and develop their own entrepreneurial and creative and projects, working alongside the mentorship of our community; one would be a purpose-built teaching space.
This could not only free up other areas for workshops or more studio spaces, but allow us to further develop our professional development and employability options for the community; the third could be additional studio spaces, an aspect of our offer which is in high demand. As part of this offer, we need to raise funds.
To this end, we have launched our Fundraising Campaign - Raise the Roof at Beach Creative with an initial fundraising target of £40,000.
