Water : An Open Exhibition
Friday 18 April - Thursday 01 May
Our first Open Call of 2025! For this exhibition, the theme is 'Water'.

An exhibition featuring the liquid of life itself.

"Artists have always been interested in the nature of water, apart from being the very crux of life it is visually elusive and at the same time captivating. Colourless and transparent it refracts and reflects our world, presenting an altered reality to beguile us"
Submissions are now closed for this Open Call but come and visit the exhibition on show until 1st May 2025.

Collective Journeys
Friday 02 May - Thursday 08 May
Exhibition Preview :
Friday 02 May, 18:00 - 20:00
The Cultural Ambassadors Spring 2025 Course has just come to an end and culminates in an exhibition of work created by the participants, showcasing all the skills and techniques they have learnt and their creative development on the course.

Cultural Ambassadors runs at Beach Creative and is funded by the University for the Creative Arts. It is offered as a FREE ten week course to adults who have not previously obtained a Degree Level Qualification.

Throughout the course, experienced tutors introduce a range of creative practices and techniques from bookbinding and cyanotypes to print-making. Participants can experiment in a safe and comfortable environment and grow their creative confidence- with many past students going on to study at Degree Level and shape their creative careers.

Are you interested in applying to the next Cultural Ambassadors Course?

We have spaces available on two courses, starting 8th /11th May 2025. Contact Gill gillalexwilson@gmail.com for an application form.

Submission Deadline : Thursday 08 May, 13:00 - 17:00
This year we are reintroducing our Watercolour Competition! This used to be a yearly event and exhibition conceived and sponsored by the much missed Ron Woodward.

There is no theme other than work needs to be rendered in a water based medium with reference to traditional watercolour technique.
That is to say with a transparent delivery, impasto acrylics would not be acceptable.
Work can be on any suitable support, paper, canvas, board etc.
Prizes will be announced in the fullness of time.
Like all our open shows there will be a £10 hanging fee for each piece and a limit of three pieces per entry.
Submissions will be on the 8th of May between 1pm and 5pm
